Department: Data & ResearchAs the head of the data and research department, I lead efforts to increase the size of the company's database of startups (a key task to perform analysis and rankings of startup ecosystems) as well as Consulting projects with Governments and Multilateral Organizations:• Provided startup ecosystem consultancy to government entities in Taiwan, Canada, Spain and Ethiopia, as well as branches of Multilateral Organizations such as the World Bank, United Nations and Asian Development Bank.• Increased the size of the startup database from ~50k entities to more than 100k entities. This increase was done keeping the quality of the dataset.• Updated the formula to calculate rankings of countries and cities according to the strength of their startup ecosystems, by including factors that weren't considered before, such as startup jobs, investment in startups, diversity of locations, among others.• Participated in the writing of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Startup Ecosystem Reports.• Participated in the creation of specific innovation maps and rankings for the Fintech industry, as well as an ad-hoc Coronavirus innovation map.• Lead calls and engagement with clients and potential clients in Spanish language, in collaboration with the Business Development department.
