Zattoo builds an OTT TV streaming platform, which they sell as a white-label (B2B) solution and a B2C product. My role was on their middleware/backend team to modernize (move from Python 2.7 to Python 3.5+) their core API service, move it from a monolothic API to a more robust solution which supports multiple deployments across the globe. The parent company, Entropia, delivers mission-critical (voice) communication on its (Tetra-based) network in Belgium and the Netherlands.I worked on the continuing development and maintenance of ComBus, their control room (and dispatch center) software. I've developed an API for 3rd parties, a new integration for a second voice network and a new web-based/hosted dispatching center. I helped with the technical support and operations of their VoIP platform. This system consists of geographically distributed VoIP switches based on Asterisk. My role here is to keep it operational and resolve existing issues. I also create new tooling for our wholesale and reseller partnersAt WeePee, we have also been working on a new TV platform for which I wrote the backend services and designed the CDN/caching layer. We're using CouchDB (for replicated access), redis (caching), PostgreSQL (with master data for all users). Everything is written as standalone Node.js services. However the project got canceled.I've investigated virtualization platforms and storage systems. After delibiration with the rest of our tech team, we've chosen to implement ganeti (with KVM) and Ceph as large scale storage. I was responsible for the migration to the new platform to ganeti. On this new platform, we're also implementing extra services via Docker (since December 2013).

From 2007 to 2008, I worked on mobile applications on their CSP platform. Created with my colleagues the GLOWE platform. This was a XML language (like XAML) which could dynamically generate mobile applications for Windows Mobile, JavaME (on feature phones) and Flash (for desktop browsers). I worked on the parser and backend algorithms for the JavaME and Flash (ActionScript) clients.Since the end of 2008, I've worked on the Mobile Vikings platform. I worked mainly on the backend (payments, parsers, activation flows, communication with 3th parties) and operations (server management, deployment, releases). This was a large Django application which used celery (with RabbitMQ as broker), redis (caching, replaced memcached) and MySQL. On the operations side, we used Fabric for automation.

Helped creating mobile applications to give people extra information on a tour through a museum and at a sports event. This application was build to run on Windows Mobile 6 (and 6.5). It was created with a C# local backend which talked to a Flash-based GUI.
