Colin Ballard
I have known Gerry as a colleague and friend for almost 30 years. He has always been a true Chemical Engineer; applying his extensive scientific knowledge and enquiring approach to a diverse range of developments. Gerry retains the macro view of a project whilst also contributing the micro, even molecular, detail. He has an extensive portfolio of achievement in innovation and novel product and process development. His programme and team management is professional and he is an excellent mentor equally to both his senior colleagues and to junior staff. His commitment is legendary; he gets things done and is fun to work with.

Sep 1968 - Jun 2006
Gerald Wasserman, a PhD Chemical Engineer, was a Research Principal in the Coffee Division at Kraft Foods Corporation until he retired in 2006. Although he had experience with other Kraft products, the last 18 years at Kraft were devoted primarily to process and product development efforts for Kraft's global coffee business. Expertise is in the areas of roast and ground coffee processing and packing; green coffee quality and processing; and soluble coffee processing. Gerry holds coffee technology patents related to roasting, grinding and brewing and he had led projects to assess competitive intellectual property and coordinate development and maintenance of Kraft's coffee IP estate. This tenure included assignments at Kraft US and European Research Centers devoted to coffee technology. Activities since retirement include consulting on process issues related to roast and ground coffee handling and providing technical expertise for related patent litigation. Show less
