Co-Founder of "What's The Big Idea" Creative Workshop for TY Students
-
Sep 2011 - Present
What’s it all about? What's The Big Idea is a creative workshop for Transition Year students. It is about enabling TY students to think inventively. Emphasizing how thinking in groups can lead to original thoughts. Enabling students to communicate ideas (audio or visual) in a clear, simple and effective way. I run the workshop with musician Paul Murphy. The two-day workshop is now part of the TY curriculum in a number of schools, including Alexanda College, Dublin and Clongowes Wood College, Co Kildare.

Freelance Writer
-
Jan 2008 - Mar 2015
Since going freelance I have pitched for and won SKY TV for DDFH&B Advertising, Irish Daily Mail and Halifax (creative) for KDNine. Worked on pitches for Superquinn, Xtra-vision, Batchelors [the latter for Bloom Advertising]. Oh, and also helped Beggars Bush launch their very own brand of whiskey. Stand-up
-
Oct 1988 - Mar 1992
Did some Stand-up moonlighting in The Cellar with some who are still bringing much needed mirth to the nation including Dermot Carmody, Barry Murphy, Ardal O'Hanlon and Kevin Gildea. Was aided and abetting by Alex Lyons. Saw a very young comic do a few open mic spots there - Dylan Moran. Often wonder what became of him Did some Stand-up moonlighting in The Cellar with some who are still bringing much needed mirth to the nation including Dermot Carmody, Barry Murphy, Ardal O'Hanlon and Kevin Gildea.
