Integrated into the "Speciality Wells" service of the Drilling and Well Department, I worked, on the one hand, on the safety of Total's wells from the identification of a well at risk until the implementation of a plan to restore its integrity. On the other hand, I'm working on improving P&A techniques by investigating and evaluating new technologies available on the market in order to reduce the cost and the time of these operations.

As part of the SWIM team (Smart Water Injection Method), my work was to show the influence of the chemical composition of the brines on the oil recovery. Previous technologies have been developed before as the low-salt technic but here, the main purpose was to reproduce the same conditions that we could have with surfactants but with water chemicaly modified. I developed an experimental set-up, allowing to put in a capillary tube an oil drop and, by a circulating system, to put this drop in presence of the desired fluids. Tests have been done with surfactants to show the efficiency of the set-up. After convincing results, severals experimentations were carried out with combinations of different fluids in order to modify the interfaciale tensions between the oil drop and the fluids and, consequently, produce a capillary pressure gradient through the drop able to displace it along the capillary tube. As part of a national research project on CO2 storage (SIGARRR Project), I worked on the implementation of an experimental protocol to evaluate the influence of ipurities (SOx, NOx, H2S) during the geological storage of CO2. The main objective was to determine the behaviour of different minerals in presence of SO2 and brines under hight pressure and temperature conditions. The experiments were carried out on two different pure mineral, namely Calcite and Orthoclase, in order to represente the most common types of reservoir (carbonate or silliciclastic). The samples were placed, in the presence of pure SO2 or in the presence of SO2 and brines, in mini gold reactors. They themselves placed in autoclaves for different duration (2 weeks, 1 month, 6 months). Results were simulated using PHREEQC software to compare simulations with experimental results. Show less
