  Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gerhard Arminger was from 1978 till 2014 professor of statistics in the Schumpeter School at Wuppertal University. In addition to his scientific career, he co-founded SAF AG in Switzerland which, by applying statistical forecasting and mathematical optimization theory, solved the problem of fully automating replenishment logistics for large retailers. SAF was listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange in 2006 and bought by SAP in 2009. Since then his main focus is consulting and helping to develop technology companies such as HYDROGRID and Directors Academy.
