I covered crime, local government board meetings, general and breaking news, as well as shot pictures, for a daily newspaper based and printed in Greenwood, Mississippi, located in the Mississippi Delta. In addition to daily reporting, I produced various enterprise stories, including pieces that looked at the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and gun violence. Two of my enterprise pieces concerning gun violence won first place awards at the Mississippi Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest. Interned with FH's Research & Analytics Practice Group, working in the St. Louis office (FH's corporate headquarters). -Conducted daily media monitoring reports for an agricultural tech client and a branch of the military. I used Boolean search strings to extract coverage from Google News and Crimson Hexagon, then summarizing and writing a daily report each day. From these daily reports I helped produce a monthly report for each client, helping manage monthly trackers on Excel. -Assisted with primary research projects, inputting survey data and creating charts in decks that would be shown to clients. I also wrote some headlines for the slides of the deck, summarizing the survey findings. - Helped with a traditional media scan of a major pharmaceutical company, scanning traditional media coverage to code sentiment and key messages over the client's best selling drug. Helped produce charts for the deck. -Helped produce a six month editorial benchmark report for an audio equipment manufacturer by using Boolean search strings to export competitor and client coverage from Meltwater. Coded traditional and social media coverage for key messages and sentiment; wrote summaries of competitors. -Used Iconoculture, Factiva, eMarketer, Crimson Hexagon to conduct secondary research/ provide analysis. -Crafted charts, pivot tables and heat maps for decks. -Used boolean search strings for secondary research. -Wrote backgrounders over journalists, influencers, and outlets for clients. -Helped create and edit media lists for a footwear company and rental car company. -Conducted a share of voice (SOV) and social media audit for a regional hospital and CEO of a car-rental company. We called our team the Wolf Agency- six different positions heralding into one tribe to create one awesome strategic campaign. Recordly is a startup company based in Columbia, Missouri, currently in the works producing a transcription app for journalists.
