Alongside an office job and studying for my degree, I obtained the role of Publishing and Merchandise intern with the spoken word collective, the Mouthy Poets. This consisted of creating a small anthology of our work, usually twice a year. Though given a broad theme, the designing, printing, typesetting and occasionally binding was managed by myself and a team of volunteers. Alongside this, it was my duty to set submission deadlines and edit each individuals work, and eventually sell the end product.

My job as Sales Assistant consisted of working on a part-time basis (20 hours a week). Within the role I worked within the various different departments in the store which included; make-up department, women’s fashion, children’s wear and footwear. My duties would vary on a day-to-day basis and included face-to-face customer services, dealing with customer complaints and placing orders over the telephone. As well as this, promoting in store offers and greeting customers at the front of the store were regular duties within the work place. Weekly KPI’s were set at £200 per person in the week and £400 per person for the weekend and these were consistently met. • Passed all online workplace assessment programmes including those based around customer service.• Cleaning expectations within the store consistently met.• Fully trained on tills, fitting rooms and theft procedures.
