Wendy Wolfendale
I have worked with Georgia for over 3 years and have been consistently impressed with her all round knowledge of issues affecting the organisations she has headed up. She is able to cut to the chase and establish the underlying important issues, put forward a plan and execute. Georgia has great focus, is driven and soon becomes passionate about the organisation she is representing. A strong team player, but with exceptional leadership skills.

Chief Executive

Oct 2014 - 2016
The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country works with partners to develop our unique urban living landscape by achieving a rich natural environment that can be enjoyed by people and wildlife for generations. As Chief Executive it is my role to support staff and volunteers to achieve our objectives to create living landscapes rich in biodiversity for the benefit of wildlife and of people.Nature conservation is usually thought of as a rural necessity. In fact, urban areas have an even more urgent need to project green and natural spaces from competing pressures for development. More people in urban areas need access to green spaces to improve health and well being, get to know neighbours, develop confidence, skills and so much more. My job is to facilitate this by helping us all value the natural world.

I work for Northfield Ecocentre because I believe we can make a positive difference to our environment. We engage with our community to bring about behaviour change. I manage the centre, the finance, the projects and the people. I decide strategy & develop new work. The work is incredibly varied ranging from professional energy advice services to planting orchards to running EcoKids sessions with groups of children and their families. It is a very challenging and rewarding role that enables me to develop both professionally and as a person.
