      My responsibilities were booking in deliveries with multiple courier companies and keeping customers in the loop and making sure the delivery time suited them.       Each day was focused on customer service and satisfaction, helping customers is the number one priority. Greeting customers when they enter the store and asking if they need any help is crucial to them feeling cared for, even if they are only looking, let them know that your there if they find something they need help with. Try to relate to the customers and be seen as friendly and approachable. Each day stock needed to be put out onto the shelves and new palettes of stock needed to be unloaded and checked off to make sure the correct amounts had been received. Making sure the store looks clean and tidy is very important as customers won't want to walk into a dirty looking store. Making sure there is enough stock out out the shelves, the shelves can't look empty, that makes it look like we have no products and that will put people off purchasing items. Making sure all the companies systems are up and running, technical difficulties need to be dealt with asap as customers cannot be kept waiting. Show less

      The responsibilities varied each day but at the end of the day the most important part of the business was customer service. Without customers there is no business. For any business to run successfully customers needs to be cared for and so when they leave they want to come back. Establishing an emotional connection with customers is very important so that they feel like they're being cared for, striking up conversations with customers is very important and being approachable is another necessity to be able to Excell at any customer related job. Being able to help customers with recommendations as well as help them when they're unsure about anything, the customers needs come first as they are what holds any business together. Customers should walk out feeling good and like we've helped them with everything they wanted us to and more. Making customers feel special will make them want to come back and will be good for business and reputations. The video store expanded into a cafe, serving customers who wanted coffee, Gelato and wraps became normal and multi tasking between the DVD and Cafe side of things became the usual. It was a very busy business and there was always things needing to be done. Show less
