  Curtin AHEAD (Addressing Higher Educational Access Disadvantage) is an innovative mentoring program based at Curtin University, that fosters the potential of groups and individuals who are underrepresented in higher education. As an AHEAD Mentor, I share my academic knowledge, insights into university life and experiences transitioning from high school to university to help students develop their academic skills, confidence and understanding of higher education. As an AHEAD Mentor, I have had the opportunity to travel to disadvantaged schools within Perth and in regional areas, to communicate with students about my education journey and help them to begin planning their own.
