Camp Counsellor at International Gymnastics Camp through Camp America. Working and living with the campers (sharing a dorm with my group of 7-10 year olds), organising and supervising the kids during activities, being enthusiastic, encouraging and supportive. Helping them day to day through homesickness and other upsets. Working closely with the senior management team and the other counsellors to come up with ideas for new activities and to organise the activities. Supervising the kids during recreational activities such as high ropes (I also received training to allow me to be an Instructor whilst in the US), kayaking, swimming, team sports etc. I also became quite the face painting talent! Training included; High Ropes Activity Instructor, child psychology lectures, first aid training, active shooter training, spotting abuse (of all kinds), alliance building, communication techniques, managing stress, bullies and targets and developmental stages and responses.
