  In my internship I was able to observe Sofia Municipality and Sofia's city council. I was present at the commissions of the city council and its sessions. I learned the preparation and formation of new laws, the planning, the ideas and propositions behind it. The efficiency of the local government comes from the direct communication between institutions and citizens. I had the opportunity to see law making at its fundamentals from the political talk and session chambers, to the citizens on the streets trying to communicate with their representatives. I am glad that I had that opportunity to gain this knowledge and experience, that made me realize I want to chase a career path in local institutions. Show less
