Successful defence of PhD Research - Enhancement of Automatic Identification System when providing navigational safety at sea The dissertation is dedicated to the implementation of new approaches and methods to support the process of decision making in the management of vessel traffic and to enhance the communication capabilities of maritime automatic identification system. A methodology is proposed for assessing the situation when creating and using intelligent software for decision support. Proposed is a structure of a risk management application. Under such environmental conditions a prototype is built assessing the probability of collision using real data from the automatic identification systems and telemetry devices in a particular region. Using fuzzy set theory, models have been developed to carry out the maneuver. Two cases are considered – berthing of a ship and passage of two ships in a strait. A proposal to include an AIS transponder in the integrated network of instruments has been considered in schematic diagrams. Simulation was carried out in terms of voltages and currents of all consumers. Proposed is an option to implement in the communication data flow a parameter group number instruction concerning the behavior of the main engine. The last is associated with speed limit effect or indication about recommended movement of ship. A web application for automatic operator support during deployment of ships in port area is developed.
