Strategic planning, leadership, oversight, implementing, supervising and analysis of adult and youth recreation activities and intramural sports, clinics, camps and special events for the county of ½-million residents. Designs recreation program standards, establishes performance objectives, and evaluates accomplishment. Serves as department CAPRA Manager; Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies. Evaluates accreditation needs; and identifies, implements, and manages the application of accreditation standards to meet audit requirements. Ensures department compliance with standards. Directs, monitors, and advises department personnel in regards to maintaining accreditation standards, including the proper documentation demonstrating accreditation compliance. Researches and evaluates department operations and administrative procedures; documents policies and procedures; recommends and implements plans and strategies to streamline operations; and assigns work to division personnel pertaining to accreditation chapters. Manages and monitors accreditation on-site assessments using PowerDMS as a repository. Conducts a variety of organizational studies; researches and collect data, conducts surveys, and prepares reports for analyses, benchmarking studies, levels of service, and outcome measurements. Implements and monitors departmental policies regarding cash handling, payroll, contracting for services with vendors, internal controls, inventory control, pricing of services and ensures that all laws, administrative regulations and policies are followed. Served as the Grant Administrator for the Tobacco Free Sports Initiative. Initiated the policy to create Tobacco-Free Zones in all of the 150 parks and facilities. This initiative was the first in the State of Maryland and it's now Statewide. Show less
