  With the help of my hard-working husband, Bob, whom I also nurtured along the way and continue to do so, I raised an incredible son- who we call Keith. You can find his profile here as well. He is now 26 years old, married to a beautiful sweet lady, and is continuing in the Way of Christ in the most inspirational way, while at the same time following his dreams of aviation and love of music. Raising this spirited, strong willed person was not easy- especially as I did so with little support system and a husband who worked much of the time. There were some- nay, MANY rocky times and even years of agony and anguish. But with God's help and all I could muster, I did my best. That being said, please continue on... IMPORTANT NOTE: I would like to add that, despite the fact that my son is at this time a relatively well-adjusted, functioning member of society, I know that does not always turn out to be the case. Keith's life is his own, and while I helped shape it, ultimately he is the one to decide how he is to live. I know it could turn out any possible number of ways for a parent as they too engage in the thankless job of parenting/nurturing. I know that parents often do all they can and their children may choose a path that hurts their heart, especially if they know its hurting the child- a life of crime, jail, addiction, or they might even lose their lives for one reason or another. This in NO WAY is a reflection on the dedicated parents, the ones who loved and struggled for their children, in many ways even giving up their own selves in order to do so. As nurturers, we nurture NO MATTER WHAT- not in a sentimentally attached way, but in the BEST WAY WE KNOW to help the nurturee to grow, feel loved, safe, and as comfortable as possible. But it's not just children I nurture... my cats, my friends, I am even learning to nurture my SELF! All of this is a journey, a not always successful one, but a continuous one which is a large part of who I am. Show less
