As Editor of the Leicester Mercury, I led the launch of LeicestershireLive. This involved the introduction in 2017 of digital-first publishing and new platforms, including app and associated social media. Monthly browsers increased from 1.5m to 5.5m between 2016 and 2020 as the Mercury remained the biggest selling regional newspaper in its county. Other activity during the period included: - relocation of the newsroom to New Walk - launch of the LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards - management to remote production during the Pandemic - launch of the There With You Fund, which raised more than £135,000 to support people impacted by Covid-19.
