Homeroom English Teacher

As lead foreign teacher for 'Desert Class' I was responsible for English lessons, PE lessons, 'National Geographic' classes and the after-school Science classes. I also gave seminars to my colleagues looking at the historical and cultural background of the international festivals the school celebrates. As well as assisting our Chinese colleagues during the afternoons the Kindergarten often asks it's foreign teachers to undertake additional tasks. These can be as varied as making promotional videos, designing festival displays and conducting sports classes.

Homeroom English Teacher

I spent 3 years as a Homeroom English Teacher in one of Beijing's most well regarded early learning institutions. Unusually for this kindergarten I was attached to the same group of children, at the insistence of the parents, for the entirety of my time there. Joining the children in the junior class I taught them for the entirety of their time at the kindergarten.My role was that of ESL teacher and my responsibilities included designing interactive and unique lessons as well as general classroom management. More broadly I was responsible for creating an English environment and fostering the children's interesting in the language.Each day, at work and in China more generally, presented its own unique challenges and opportunities for learning. This experience, which, like most teachers here, I fell into almost by accident, was a great one for personal growth in so many ways.

Internship - Baroness Eaton of Cottingley DBE DL

Whilst the role was officially billed as that of an intern Research Assistant it was actually closer to that of a Parliamentary Assistant. As a party whip Lady Eaton is a very active member of the House and so I was kept busy analysing legislation for debates and committee, monitoring Parliamentary proceedings, helping with speechwriting and constructing written and oral questions. Internship - Graham Brady MP

My responsibilities largely involved dealing with confidential constituency correspondence but also extended to assisting in the organisation of events, meeting guests of the MP and assisting with telephone inquires. Constituency casework was the main focus during my time in the office and often involved research as well as dealing with the necessary correspondence to and from various government departments and non governmental organisations as well as with the constituent themselves. Summer Internship

My time spent with Dyson Energy Services over the summer of 2014 largely consisted of office work in the auditing department inputting and checking data.
