   Plan and direct laboratory testing activities and provide timely reports to management Where required, review test procedures Ensure that all laboratory equipment is kept in good working condition. Order new equipment whererequired and oversee the repair or replacement of faulty or broken equipment. Ensure that laboratory equipment is calibrated at the appropriate regular intervals and that accuraterecords are kept of each calibration as it is performed.  Oversee the routine collection of water and palm products samples from the nominated sampling points(within the 5 Mills) Oversee the preparation and forwarding of the water samples to the external testing Laboratory Distribute the external tests results to the applicable departments and or operations. Ensure that the laboratory analyses are conducted following laboratory established procedures Notify the Manager of any affected operations, the Sustainability Manager, AHOE and or the SeniorManager – Oil Mills where results indicate that corrective action is required. Ensure that the Mill Manager and/or the Senior Manager – Oil Mills (depending on the nature ofthe problem) are informed where results indicate that corrective action is required, Ensure that the laboratory employees have adequate skills to perform their tasks correctly. Identifytraining needs and help in organizing any training required. Ensure that laboratory employees observe company regulations, company’s Environmental Policy, OHSprocedures and take appropriate disciplinary action when required. Ensure Mills process a functioning correctly from the receiving of the raw palm fruit to the final product soas to produce a quality product. Give directions to sub-ordinate to arrange for maintenance to items/machineries that directly contributesto the quality of the product. Eg: CPO Tanks must be cleaned on schedule dates for the betterment of thepurpose it will play in the production of Crude Palm Oil)
