I’m excited to join Te Kaitiaki Take Kōwhiri on a casual basis to provide training for electorate workers heading into the 2023 General Election. I first worked on election day in 2017 and loved the opportunity to contribute to a healthy and thriving democracy in Aotearoa. Since then, I have developed my facilitation skills and I’m looking forward to doing my bit to make this years election run smoothly! The primary role of a trainer is to ensure that all electorate field employees are trained in accordance with the requirements of National Office. This role involves planning and delivery of training sessions, ensuring team effectiveness and culture and ensure cultural competence across the trainers. Show less

    • Manager, COVID-19 Welfare
      • Jan 2022 - Dec 2022

The role of the COVID-19 Welfare Manager was to oversee the implementation of systems and processes to respond to positive cases and close contacts and ensure they were supported in their isolation. This will include managing the flow of work to student and staff case managers. Over the 12 month secondment, over 5000 students were supported by UC in their isolation through check in phone calls, grocery provision, power bill subsidy and mental health and well-being support. The Welfare Manager also coordinated information to government agencies and stakeholders as appropriate - supporting public health and national health services to identify high risk outbreaks The initial focus was to implement a scalable team structure, processes and procedures, and digital tools to expedite and enable remote contact tracing work. This shifted to welfare support when the New Zealand Government removed the focus on contact tracingUC has a strong focus on equity, and the Welfare Manager was responsible for ensuring the universities response to COVID-19 was equitable and provides targeted support to our students and staff who needed it most. We are proud to have partnered with local kaupapa Māori organisations to support our Māori students who were isolating. Show less
