I created a detailed political strategy in order to achieve the aims of the MP. The results of which have been extremely successful leading to a greatly increased public profile (10-fold increase in media appearances, a tripling of twitter followers, and the development of an Instagram profile). I advised the MP on political positions to take on a variety of national and internationals issues. I manage several media platforms and liaise with journalists and broadcasters to arrange media appearances. I have developed good relationships with the Press. I undertake specific research as and when required in conjunction with the House of Commons Library. As well as this, I have written and edited several news articles and OpEds, published in national and regional news publications. I am responsible for setting up and facilitating meetings with a variety of stakeholders including CEOs, MPs and Minsters. I am responsible for the running of several All Party Parliamentary groups. This includes organising Parliamentary events and receptions for up to 150 people. Show less

I lived and worked in China and taught A-level and GCSE students in Science and Maths. I also advised them on how to submit successful applications to UK universities. I was expected to provide detailed academic plans for each student. Other duties included designing and delivering seminars as well as running and taking responsibility for the development of an internship program. During a 3 month internship, I worked in the brewing technical department of SABMiller- the 2nd biggest brewer globally. My role was very varied and involved assisting with on-going projects. I worked on the recipe of a novel beer designed to deliver a new sensory experience to the consumer. I was responsible for working out & adjusting the concentration of components in the beer before making up samples in the lab. I organised several events for the other interns including a beer tasting session and a brewery tour. Show less

I learnt the teaching skills required to confidently and effectively lead large classes of approximately 40 students. This included designing and implementing my own lesson plans. I gained skills in adaptability, leadership, teamwork and communication. I also gained cultural awareness and sensitivity. I would now feel confident living and working in a foreign city.
