As a Field Application Engineering Manager at Ezlo Innovation, I utilize my extensive expertise to collaborate with the Product Management team in defining requirements and enhancing the features of the Ezlo platform. I also provide support to third-party integrators in integrating the Ezlo and MiOS APIs into their solutions, resulting in streamlined integration and optimal adoption. Through my role, I have acquired a comprehensive understanding of the hardware and software product development process, including the associated challenges and opportunities. I bring my valuable customer experience to the table, offering insightful input throughout the product lifecycle to continuously improve the feature set. I am committed to working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that deliverables align with their expectations. I also play a critical role in refinement sessions to ensure customer requirements are accurately conveyed to the engineering team. With a successful track record in managing multiple projects, ranging from small Z-Wave device integrations to larger OEM solutions, I have also led a highly competent team of six individuals across three continents. My innovative problem-solving skills have allowed me to find creative solutions to complex challenges posed by cutting-edge technologies. My deep understanding of the Ezlo platform, including its APIs, has enabled me to effectively support OEMs and third-party integrators in adapting their systems, reducing time to launch and driving adoption. Additionally, I have become a subject matter expert in diagnosing wireless protocol issues, particularly Z-Wave and Zigbee, through my work with our OpenWRT Linux-based solution. Show less

As a Field Application Manager at MiOS I focused on the core business of MiOS, the whitelabel solution based on Vera IoT product line for OEMs. This meant moving from a B2C to B2B type of relationship, and throughout this role I managed to gain an in-depth overview of the platform as a whole and allowed me to bring my personal contribution to the core.Working as a Field Application Engineering Manager in a start-up home automation company helped me reinvent myself and:- utilize my out of the box thinking to find solutions to issues when dealing with the IoT and the Home Automation industry- correctly analyze and assess technical matters and offer solutions or starting points to quickly resolve them- gain a deep understanding on how the MiOS solution works by using the platform's APIs, and assisting OEM and 3rd party integrators quickly adapt their systems and reducing the time to launch- participate in Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) to win OEM deals- create a device integration process and allow for fast-track integrations for Z-Wave and ZigBee home automation protocols- use and implement Scrum Agile methodology principles into the device integration process- working closely with our embedded hub solution allowed me gain expert debugging skills and become an in-house expert on the Z-Wave home automation technology- work with JSON/XML/Lua/UPnP and MiOS RESTful APIs- use Jira for bug reporting, planning, refinement and retrospective sessions, and Confluence for knowledge base- create and assist with proof of concepts for brand new ideas and technologies- manage an international team on three continents and participate in hiring interviews locally (Romania) and internationally (USA/Colombia)- assist sales team with the technical expertise and providing answers tailored to the customer needs (cutting down on time needed to analyze their requirements by the engineering team) Show less

    • Customer Care Agent
      • Nov 2011 - Jun 2012

"The customer is always right" is very hard to put into practice especially with a product as complex as the Vera line of home automation products. However, as a Customer Care Agent I learned to listen to the actual needs and helped customers with their issues over phone or email.Working in a domain as complex and diverse as home automation lead me to:- listen and understand customer needs and provide them with a working solution, as most of the times issues escalate due to a misunderstanding of their needs- develop excellent researching skills, due to the lack of physical equipment and the need to offer solutions to customers- gain a good understanding of the home automation system, allowing me to help my colleagues with my new found knowledge- gain an understanding of the OpenWRT Linux operating system and troubleshoot issues Show less
