This project is well outside my normal scope of experience. Newmont Nusa Tenggara is a huge gold and copper mine. This site has very corrosive elements which has affected the major steel infrastructure with loss of section due to corrosion.. Project set up by Newmont to survey all steel structures with a view to repatriate all structures. The project entailed the programming of all steel renewal or repairs required to ensure safety for the structure, estimate quantities and costs, managing steel packages and finally grit blast and coat all surface areas with a non-corrosive paint system. The major setback with this project was the political unrest from the local contractors including their on site support staff. Still very interesting and only adds to my experience as I had to rely on support staff experience to successfully manage the project. Show less
