Teaching anatomy, embryology, neuroscience, and physiology at the new Woody L Hunt School of Dental Medicine. Designing a new anatomical, neuroscience, and physiological curriculum within the first two years of the dental school curriculum. We are using the spiral approach within the basic sciences and also integrating the basic sciences within the clinical skills program.I also teach Gross Anatomy, Basic Radiological Imaging, Neuroscience and Ultrasonography to 1st and 2nd year medical students in the Paul L Foster School of Medicine. I participate in the teaching of Advanced Anatomy electives and the Surgical Anatomy Elective to 4th year medical students.I am involved the Office of Faculty Development in helping new faculty to TTUHSC El Paso develop their teaching skills. I have been creating active learning experiences in interprofessional education for the dental students.

I came on short notice and replaced a departing senior anatomist until CMU hired another anatomist. I immediately helped with the transition from face-to-face teaching, specifically lab teaching, to the online or digital teaching during the COVID-19 lockdown. We not only digitally photographed the cadaver images but also created movies so that students could have a somewhat 3D perspective of the anatomical structures begin studied. I also used material I had previously made for the clinical correlation sessions. This material involved Radiological Anatomy of the various body systems. I also helped a physician colleague, Dr. Judy Blebea, a Radiologist, design and develop Online Diagnostic Radiology for M4 students. I then continued with CMU to help with the setup and development of the Distinction in Anatomy program where M1 moving to M2 students got the opportunity to dissect the cadavers for preparation of teaching materials for M1 and M2 students. The students also got the opportunity to make teaching videos of the material they dissected. This was a very satisfying experience.
