Arc Angel Steels was established in 2010 and was based in Oxford. The business ceased to exist since moving to Bristol over three years ago. When I ran the business, I had the pleasure of working with many different engineering manufacturing and design companies, on various projects. This is where I gained valuable insight and experience into industry and manufacture first hand. I had a varied customer base, from sub-contracting myself to engineering and manufacturing companies, to installing architectural structural steels across London. I had the pleasure of working alongside artists, welding marquette armatures for Bronze sculptures and castings, to precision welding in the Formula 1 industry. After my first year of doing this I then decided to start producing my own creative metal-works and sold them on my website around the world. I understand the commitment to a secure a successful business, build quotes and procurement and learnt how important it is to develop a network for long standing relationships with clients. I personally over sore every step for each custom job and covered all aspects of the design and manufacture process to deliver the best possible service. Show less

In my time here at Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology I have had great opportunity working alongside very talented individuals, forging new relationships, and moulding my previous experience into my new roll. My main job role was head of production welding. I managed and produced a series of bespoke pressure vessels, pipes, brackets, fixings and fixtures for stock of product assemble kits which fed direct into the manufacturing production line. This roll has given me great satisfaction in outsourcing weld production pieces, quality control of welded procured items producted for manufacture. As a part of quality control and weld inspection, engineering statements and reports were produced to give feedback to suppliers to maintain quality standards and to control the level of returns. Welder/fabricator for motorsport exhausts. Using a range material gauges from 0.6mm upwards. Making individual components for F1 exhaust systems from tapered bends, flanges, collectors (2-1, 4-1) All systems were built using 3D jigs, assembled from solid works drawings and after production, tested for accuracy using a Faro Arm for correct tolerances. My role was to create a large range of primary, secondary and tertiary pipes including mufflers, silencers, and collections for an interesting collection of motorsport teams from around the world. My roles involved working as part of an innovative and dynamic high-tech engineering team, welding high specification vessels and structures used in Siemen’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners. All welds went through a series of ISO checks during production, each stage signed off by supervisors, then on completion go through another quality control check of dye penetrant testing, vacuum testing then X-ray before completion and delivery. I obtained in-house codes which comply to AD Merkblatt 2000 and PD 5500 standards, these include: • Pipe to Plate • Vertical T Section • Vertical Butt Joint • Asme IX 6G Show less
