  I have been a Patent & Trade Mark Attorney at Halfords IP since 1989, and a Partner since 1998, after starting my career at the Australian Patent Office and a larger Patent Attorney firm.My technical background in Chemical Engineering gives me a broad technological understanding, and has allowed me to operate across fields including chemical and chemical engineering, pharma, materials science, process and mechanical engineering, agriculture, mining and mineral processing, and medical devices. 30 years in the business has given me broad experience in patent drafting, filing and prosecution, for both Australia and overseas, and in advice and opposition matters. My practice also has a strong trade mark component, especially in trade mark opposition proceedings.My clients look to me for advice to help them make decisions on their intellectual property to drive their business. So it is important that my advice gives them direction, not just an endless array of options.I’m a strong believer in clear communications, especially as intellectual property can be a complex field.
