Improved recovery from an estimated 55% to in excess of 97% and increased throughput from 18tph up to 40tph while moving the workforce away from contractors to Company employees during this period. The supervision of a contract to install three additional CIP tanks overcome restrictions in circuit retention time was also carried out during this time.       Continued as Registered Manager/Mill Manager from previous company responsible for the entire works of the Sandstone operations including open pit mining, ore haulage and operation of the treatment plant. Treatment plant operations included installation and commissioning of a ball mill into the circuit to maintain the plant throughput with harder ore. During the first two years of this period the Sandstone operation was the lowest cost gold producer in Australia. The safety record of the site was also improved with a total of over 1,200 LTI free days worked. During this period I also performed the role of Mill Manager as well as the Manager’s position.       Responsible for the design, commissioning and operation of a 1.4 Mtpa CIP plant consisting of a three stage crushing circuit, single stage 2400 kW ball mill and 5 tonne AARL split elution. Control of the plant is monitored by a Citec monitoring system overlaying Allen Bradley PLC’s. Initial feasibility studies were conducted while supervising the daily operation of two parallel CIP plants treating 700,000 tpa until the commissioning of the new plant. Additional work conducted during this period included modification of the metallurgical spread sheets to fully utilise Lotus 123, budget preparation and cost control/reports. During this period an investigation was undertaken into recovery of gold from a refractory pyrite component of the ore.
