Freelance Web Designer/Developer

Jul 2012 - Present
At the beginning I freelanced on my own and had my own clients. I worked while studying, travelling and even on the side of normal jobs. I continue to maintain the websites of my clients that I have designed and built. More recently I was working in Australia. Here I was part of an agency called Artisan. My agent would assign me to contract roles where I would go into the companies’ offices. I worked in-house and in agencies, for companies such as WhyBin, Mercer, JWT and McMillan Shakespeare Group (Maxxia). Mainly I developed HTML 5 animated display banners with CSS and jQuery for companies such as Nissan, Ford, Origin and ANZ Bank. I also worked on designing and developing newsletters (EDM's). As well as developing web pages for eLearning courses for Swinburne Online University. Show less

Working at Kathmandu was part of my Freelancing, however it was one of my longest contracts, lasting for 3 months. I helped work on re-branding and the launch of a new part of the business in travel. You can see the website I developed at travel.kathmandu.com.au. My day to day role would be primarily developing animated display banners in HTML 5, CSS and jQuery. As well as developing and designing weekly newsletters. I worked alongside media companies with Sizmek and Doubleclick as platforms to load the display banners. My role was also to develop new technologies and integrating them into BAU work. Such as creating dynamic content for EDM's, which would result in customers receiving more relevant emails. They would be able to filter customer data ie. if the customer was a man he would only get products sent for men. This in turn would produce more revenue. I also worked on cinemagraphs as a way of catching peoples attention on social media, using the tools in Photo Shop and the right photography. Show less

Web Designer/Front End Web Developer

Oct 2012 - Oct 2014
Now known as Trendzer. An outsourcing company that mainly worked on behalf of BT. In RSTO I was in a client facing role, responsible for the design and build of many different client websites using CSS and HTML. In this role I was a project manager as I had to organise all my work so that the projects were complete within the deadlines. Delivering interactive support to all the clients who needed it, was also part of the role as we took inbound calls through out the day. Another daily routine would be designing company logos and branding in line with customer requirements using PhotoShop. As I spoke to clients every day, I used these opportunities to up sell more features for their websites to increase RSTO’s revenue. I started this job as a Junior Web Developer and increased my skills, which lead me to move onto the bigger packages building ecommerce sites with ePages and Joomla. Show less

Telephone banking included talking to all types of customers about their own banking needs. I took inbound calls throughout my shifts and worked towards targets for sales aswell as for service. Examples of calls are; fraud related, bank transfers, checking recent transactions, setting up standing orders and bill payments. Security was extremely important and this was followed through each call. I learnt a lot of customer services skills here as I had to deal with customers under a lot of stress.
