The primary duties of the Safety Operations Manager encompass Company-wide transportation safety to include responsibilities of driver hiring, driver orientation, ensuring completion of driver refresher training, accident analysis/investigation, insurance, claims to handle, and OSHA program development of a medium-sized Transportation Company with Multi-State terminals and operations across the United States. Other duties assigned include Maintaining regulatory compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations and ensuring OSHA regulatory compliance/training within the PFA Systems maintenance facility. Duties include managing the PFA Systems electronic logging compliance department and monitors video event recorder systems. The compliance of the required FMCSA drug and alcohol testing program compiles the driver qualification files and conducts the driver onboarding process. The Safety Operations Manager also is tasked with ensures the completion of remedial training for drivers involved in accidents or worker injury injuries. Coaching and developing relationships/trust with the company’s multi-site location is a required focus. The successful fulfillment of PFA Systems, Inc Safety Operations Manager, resulted in over 90% compliant scores from an independent organization like Safety Management Services Company (SMSC) and the Eagle group, the positive downtrend, and removal of alert status for 4 Federal Safety scores, and the lowering loss runs to the single digits and establishing a positive safety culture.

The successful completion of military billets (roles mentioned above) resulted in a score of the mid 90% range compliance scores for platoon readiness and an increase of asset accountability, resulting in decreasing asset misplacement and replacement by over 2.5 million dollars over 3 three years.
