During my two-month internship at AAJ Enterprises, a prominent 3PL warehouse company, I had the opportunity to serve as an operations intern. This experience provided me with invaluable insights into the world of warehouse management systems (WMS) and various aspects of warehouse operations. My primary project during this time was focused on enhancing the efficiency of warehouse operations, specifically targeting the turnaround time in the picking and packing department. Throughout my internship, I gained a comprehensive understanding of how WMS functions, enabling me to navigate and utilize these systems to streamline various warehouse processes. I actively engaged in tasks related to inventory management, order processing, and optimizing the flow of goods within the warehouse. Collaborating with the operations team, I was able to implement strategies that aimed to reduce delays and improve overall operational efficiency. My project focused on achieving quicker turnarounds in the picking and packing department, which are crucial aspects of warehouse operations. I assessed the existing workflows, identified bottlenecks, and proposed solutions to expedite these processes. Through data analysis and process mapping, I devised strategies that minimized wait times, enhanced resource allocation, and increased accuracy in order fulfilment. Show less
