      My doctoral research work focused on assessing the neuroprotective function of Indian ayurvedic medicine in Parkinson's disease model. I am using mass spectrometry-based global and phospho-proteomics and metabolomics approaches to understand the extent of neuronal damage in PD model and the role of the traditional medicie in conferring neuroprotection.

      During my tenure as a JRF, I was primarily working with generation of primary cell culture from human ocular tissue. My work was focused on assessing the effect of hyperglycemia on the inner and outer blood-retinal-barrier i.e., retinal endothelium and retinal pigment epithelium. I have proved the connection between hyperglycemia induced Egr-1 (early growth response-1) protein with vascular dysfunction in retinal endothelin cells.
