Investigate, identifys and produces comprehensive reports on failed technical equipment. Diagnosing these faults with the help of technical publications and electronic testing facilities. Where possible making recomendations on future preventitive action. Inspects all vehicles or associated mechanical equipment producing reports on repair work required. Often working alone in situations being the only mechanic responsible for the servicing, upkeep and repair of mission essential equipment. ACHIEVMENTS Increased the availability of fleet from 68% to over 90%. Achieved this by the introduction of a 21 point check system to ensure reliability. This enabled us to have the correct vehicles available to enable us to work effectivly when helping the local population rebuild their country. Maintained roadworthyness of a fleet of 30 vehicles despite very limited spare parts. This was achieved by preventitive maintanince and timely inspections. When the need arose mechancical work rounds were introduced for mission critical equipment. Served once in Belize and twice in Afghanistan on operations. Gaining a NATO medal and a Operational Medal for serving in Afghanistan for a total of 14 months. In Afghanistan have been called to use sound judgement when dealing with casulties in a high risk environment.
