For nearly 5 years I worked with Gary on various email, web site, hosting, security and monitoring solutions for the District of Squamish. In all of my dealings with Gary I found him to be extremely conscientious and sincerely motivated to solve technical problems for his end-users and to ensure an optimally running technology infrastructure for his employer. Although it is easy to find skilled technical staff who will simply "put in their time" and expend the minimal amount of effort required to fulfill the requirements of their position, in my opinion Gary is NOT one of those types of IT or Systems Specialists. I found Gary to be someone who takes personal responsibility for the challenges he faces at work, and would readily put in the extra time, additional learning and outstanding effort in order to resolve a user's issue, or find a rapid solution to a complex networking or server outage. On a personal note I also found Gary to be a genuine pleasure to work with and he always demonstrated a professional, respectful and conscientious attitude, even during the most stressful of critical technical issues. I have no hesitation recommending Gary in the position of Systems Specialist and would consider him to be a valuable asset to any organization.
