  As a pharmacist within the public sector I am actively involved in overseeing pharmacist assistants stationed at various primary healthcare clinics. I am based at a district hospital where I am part of a multidisciplinary team striving to deliver healthcare excellence through collaboration. My role requires me to oversee the efficient management of stock at both the hospital and clinic level. I am actively involved in the antibiotic stewardship programme in the hospital and have been tasked with leading the rollout of the antibiotic stewardship programme within the clinics. I have also been appointed as the head of the health and safety committee within the hospital and work under the mentorship of a seasoned sub-district pharmacist and acting CEO who have undertaken to act as my mentors as I endeavour to grow in my role in the public sector.
