Gary combines his insights in the functioning of commodity (soft, industrials & precious) markets with my aim of developing & implementing meaningful hedge & investment strategies in a rather unique way. Using all media (from print to tweet) available to him, Gary ensures his message comes across loud & clear. An expert at collecting & interpreting loads of data, at ease with hobnobbing politicians and demanding CEO’s, Gary comes across as a solid, down to earth, trustworthy and resourceful person. Always open to debate, he has never let me down. Gary is as pure as Beluga caviar.

Gary has been instrumental over the course of the last 10 years in my quest to deliver 1st class independant research in the precious metals sector. Gary wrote during this time span exclusively for my department at WestLB, Fortis Belgium, Fortis Nederland and the new formed ABN AMRO Grou,p as part of our contract with Virtual Metals. The topics and reports have always been top-class and the feedback from the customer basis has been extremely positive. Gary`s brief was substantially expanded during the Fortis years, where initially Base Metals and Agri commodities became part of his deliverables, which was again expanded to include Energy products by 2008. A truly great professional.

VM Group was a start-up company that eventually grew to the point where its major client, Fortis Bank, outsourced all its commodity research and analysis to the company. We specialized in precious and base metals; energy (including renewable); all soft commodities; and carbon, producing a range of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.A truly delightful work experience - good leadership, good workmates, good projects. I would still be there but for the recession. RIP VM Group.
