      Pickering Nuclear Station, First Line Manager, 1994 to 2007 Laundry Facility: Supervised a crew of 8 Civil Maintainers in the collection of human cotton goods, towels and plastic radiation suits. Used 5 large industrial washers to wash the aforementioned goods. Used 2 different drying systems for cotton, towels and plastic coveralls. The work involved some larger radiation hazards at times. Ensured clean goods were returned to field locations including 3 large changerooms. With the assistance of other mechanical, electrical and civil maintenance trades, improved the materiel condition of the facility. Also purchased over $50K in distribution and receiving carts, which were ergonomically friendly to the staff. Unit 0, Civil Maintenance Crew – Supervised indirectly with the assistance of 3 Union Supervisors as many as 50 Civil Maintainers involved in floor maintenance, office cleaning, laboratory cleaning maintenance areas cleaning and outside buildings maintenance. The work involved slight radiation hazards. Achieved materiel conditions improvements and was recognized for it. Took on a program to improve the 2 men’s changerooms and the women’s changeroom. This involved stripping accumulated wax and dirt build up in these areas. Procedures group – Supervised directly 4 Civil Maintainers in the writing of work procedures for the Civil Maintenance Group at Pickering Nuclear. Had to overcome high sick leave usage by staff.
