Integrative Solutions Group accelerates sustainability by optimizing the design and performance of buildings and neighborhoods. ISG performed three main functions: 1. to consolidate and maintain networks of building and urban sustainability experts in public, private, non-profit and academic sectors. The ISG network provided a client base as well as a pool of committed on- and off-campus experts from which ISG recruited teams for each design project; 2. to provide full support for the integrative design process to planners, architects, developers, builders, utilities, municipalities and other levels of government; 3. to collaborate with Carleton University, Algonquin College and other academic experts on IDP projects, and to offer training and support for international research and events. GMC performed numerous large and small construction projects in both new and existing homes. Over the years I followed green building trends and incorporated advanced practices and materials into my projects. Practices included cost-sharing with clients on recycling tasks, re-using and re-purposing existing materials, using local materials, reducing off-gassing in projects, planning and renovating for multiple uses and future change (i.e accessibility and life change), and researching best products and practices. I also constantly advocated for education among my material suppliers and sub-trades. Show less

I conducted market research and advised an innovative builder on energy, environmental and regulatory changes that may impact upon the company's planning. I also engaged in discussions about corporate social and environmental responsibility with this front-running builder. Finally, I created a blog for Domicile to engage consumers, sales staff and the industry about residential sustainability.
