Selected in 2012 to head up a new business group within G3 Systems I became the Equipment Systems and Support (ESS) Group Manager. The ESS Group has three functions; Project Management and Delivery, Equipment Through Life Support and Equipment Design and Supply. As Group Manager I manage a team of around 25 people in to 2 delivery teams. The Project Teams, consisting of Project Managers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, Integrated Logistic Support Engineers and Technicians have responsibility for delivering a programme of engineering system projects and equipment support projects. The Product Integration Team responsible for equipment build and test, and commissioning of engineering systems before hand over for acceptance by the customer. I have responsibility for Group Turnover and meeting annual targets for growth and budget responsibility for the department overhead. In the first 3 years I doubled the Group Turnover. Responsible for the delivery of systems engineering projects from inception through delivery and acceptance to in-service support. Working with a variety of customers from the MOD to Government Agencies and the commercial sector. An example of a project I managed would be the design and supply of a high security multi-container office complex, with secure communications. A £1million project delivered on budget and on time to a tight customer driven deadline. This required close management of the stakeholder community, maintaining good information flow to enable decisions to be made quickly and effectively to maintain the programme Show less
