  I accepted the invitation to join this startup company as part of a small team providing technical solutions to the nuclear industry. In addition to my core responsibilities, I contribute to various other aspects concerning the operations of a successful and expanding company. Achievements: Awarded ‘Highly Commended’ at the 2014 NDA Supply Chain Awards in the category of ‘Best example of a supplier going the extra mile’ for two contracts delivered directly to Magnox. I created the technical proposal for the tender and was then lead engineer for both contracts. The projects saved the NDA £960k and were delivered to programme and under budget. Conducting expert peer review on designs from other companies. Instrumental in creating the benchmark for engineering/project engineering delivery within the company. Development of associated tools and systems to ensure a consistent company approach while ensuring legislation/standards/best practice obligations are met. Implementation and continued development of the quality management system, gaining ISO 9001 accreditation with LRQA. Assisting with the development and implementation of the health, safety and environmental management systems (LRQA 14001 & 18001 accredited) including taking the role of Radiation Protection Supervisor.   Initially recruited as a graduate engineer, I have a range of experience from working within the nuclear industry for clients like GE Healthcare, Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd, IBA and Nukem Technologies. Achievements: Production engineer and mechanical engineering support overseeing purchasing, manufacture and the collation of the subsequent quality record for a full traceability contract to German KTA nuclear crane regulations (class 4.3, equivalent to UK class 1) with a third party inspection body involved at all stages, the first UK company to achieve this. Lead engineer taking a scheme from detail design and specification, manufacture and build through to testing. Full design process, build, testing, supporting documentation package and quality records. Delivering a result that surpassed client expectations and was within budget (£800k). Developing, with a specialist subcontractor, a portable mill for creating penetrations in an existing plant steel shield wall. This included development trails and planning necessary to ensure the package of work was successfully completed within the timescale of a plant shutdown in a radiologically controlled area. Development of R&D projects to improve product performance. Participating in peer review and revision of company procedures.   I undertook a wide variety of tasks for subsea applications, progressing from an apprentice position working during vacations to full time R&D production engineer. Production of tooling through general machining including CAD programming. Manufacturing including chemical handling, surface preparation and injection molding.
