The scope included 3 tunnel sections which were changed to open cut following negotiations with private business owners and Value Engineering Proposals. The works also included the crossing under/over High-Pressure gas mains (70 bar), high voltage ESB cables (110KV and 220KN underground cables) and the existing 900mm concrete Ballycoolin truck main which supplied water to 500,000 people. 1.5km of the works were within Dublin Airport Authority lands (DAA) with height restrictions as low as 5m.

The work package also included the removal of over 300,000m3 of excavations up 17m deep as part of Phase 2. Phase 2 was proposed and did not proceed following objections to the Planning application.My responsibilities included: Communication with service providers regarding the diversion of existing services, application for hoarding licences, Temporary works design, compiling and submission of method statements, arranging additional Site investigation and testing of materials, coordination of the specialist piling subcontractor. Manging the installation of vibration, noise and dust monitors. Arranging precondition surveys of all adjoining structures and buildings. Submission of weekly progress reports and attending meeting with the client Coordination of works with TII and the Luas Operator and arranging outages for overnight works.

All road opening licence applications. Consultations with Inland Fisheries Ireland concerning the crossing of the river Liffey and other important fisheries watercourses. Procurement and programming of specialist subcontractors. Programming the works and coordination of the Plant, Labour, materials, Specialist Subcontractors, and site management team. Day to day communication with Client staff, twice weekly whiteboard meeting, weekly design meetings, compiling and submission of monthly progress reports and attending all meetings. Preparation of the Monthly progress report and account submission. Liaison with client and Engineers staff concerning quality, environmental, safety and design issues. Preparing, submitting, and implementing method statements. Submission of Contactors alternative design proposals and Value Engineering solutions for acceptance. Construction of grass and Astroturf playing pitches, tennis courts,sports lighting, fencing and equipment, Public gardens, walkways and playground.Responsibilities include;• Programming and coordination of the Roadbridge works with specialist subcontractors to carry out the mechanical, electrical, security, landscaping and paving works. Coordinating our works with other Contractors working within the site.• Preparation and submission of Material Approval Requests and Contractors works Proposals • Site Quality manager NCR and coordination of laboratory and site works. Extensive soil analysis (Murphy Suite testing) was required to establish the possible extent of contaminated soils on site and establish the appropriate use/disposal of the material depending on the results.
