My daily operations include processing contributions and distributions to and from IRA accounts using multiple ways through banking ACH, internal and external journals and checks. Currently utilizing a more hands on approach than previous employers. Using more of a manual process rather than automated. As a senior member I have daily, monthly, and yearly reports that need to be ran to make sure processing is accurate and with IRS guidelines. Daily use of Excel and SQL to gather accurate information and reconcile from our back office applications. I am regularly asked to assist with special projects to look for errors and trends from the field that could be damaging to client’s retirement. Daily I am taking inbound calls and responding to emails professionally to answer FA and their assistant’s questions that can arise when dealing with tax sheltered accounts. Show less

    • Senior Securities Operations Risk Analyst at Wells Fargo Advisors
      • Jun 2014 - Apr 2018

In an ever-changing financial environment, my immediate role in the Middle Office was to analyze risk and stay compliant with firm wide policies and procedures. There is industry wide FINRA rules and regulations that I had to stay in line with daily. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to, being a liaison between the branches in the field to my location in the back office. I developed interpersonal relationships with Financial Advisors and their Branch/Regional Managers. In my role, I was expected to handle expedited issues. When urgent matters arose, I handled them with great attention to detail and accuracy. Managing my time in the office was paramount to balance a heavy day-to-day workload, meeting time constraint requirements, meanwhile working with all the Branches along the East Coast and tending to their immediate needs. • IRA Department Senior Securites Operations Specialist III
      • Nov 2005 - Jun 2014

Worked directly with, but not limited to, a range of companies that use Wells Fargo Advisors as an IRA asset clearing house. These companies rely heavily on operations specialists to handle every IRA inquiry, whether it is moving cash or stock in and out of an IRA or answering complex questions regarding movement of funds, meanwhile staying within the guidelines set up by the IRS. I also worked very closely with these company’s brokers and cashiering departments verbally and through written communication to make sure their formal documents are handled with the utmost attention to detail and are processed correctly in this time sensitive environment. Upon the arrival of several new hires, I have been called upon to mentor their development in this financial industry, whether it is through a question they might have or walk them through a difficult conference phone call between a financial advisor and a client. The attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are essential in these times. Any wrong information given comes back on me and I am responsible to rectify the situation. Retirement accounts have many income options. Each of these mutual funds, annuities, equities, etc. has a specialized department within the company where they deal with these entities strictly. Retirement accounts house all of these investment vehicles. Having a broad knowledge of all aspects of these departments is a must. Show less

      • Jun 2004 - Nov 2005

Duties included working with exception reports where I used my knowledge of IRS tax rules/codes and administered this information to correct problems with client’s retirement accounts and qualified plans. Other reports I worked on involved different types of transactions in and out of accounts where the correct information is vital for clients or IRS penalties will occur. Each of these reports required me to learn Wachovia’s, now Wells Fargo’s, BETA back office system, where I would be responsible to input the correct information to clean up the various mistakes in each department.
