It is with pleasure that I provide this recommendation for Gareth I first worked with Gareth when he filled a Vendor/Relationship management role at Vodafone Australia. Gareth had responsibility for managing the relationship with Nokia Siemens Networks who were providing equipment and services to Vodafone, including a large Managed Services contract. At the time I took on the role of Head of Service for Nokia Siemens Networks there were a number of significant issues in the contracts between NSN and Vodafone. Gareth played a key part in helping move NSN and Vodafone forward, leading the efforts from Vodafone to enhance the relationship between NSN and Vodafone including the development of a Partnership Charter. He also acted as a key interface between NSN and Vodafone on the development and implementation of plans to address service and operational issues. That, together with the efforts of both teams resulted in a significant improvement in the relationship between NSN and Vodafone, and in the outcomes of the service contracts. This culminated in an award from Vodafone to NSN for Service Performance. After Gareth left Vodafone Australia he joined Nokia Siemens Networks in a Regional Operational Leadership role in APAC. I then had the opportunity to work with Gareth as a friend and colleague within Nokia Siemens Networks In the time I have known Gareth I have observed the following capabilities and qualities: * Ability to build strong relationships and partnerships based on mutual respect and striving for a win-win outcome * Strong leadership capabilities based on true respect for the individual whilst striving for company outcomes * An ability to work through challenging issues, while maintaing and building relationships * Extensive Vendor Management Capabilities * Extensive Contract Management Experience It is with this in mind, that I recommend Gareth without hesitation.
