I managed a team of laminators in the production of composite parts for the Aviation industry. I priorities work and arrange weekly schedules , and used a tracking system to keep on top of part location. We use Pre-Preg , Epoxy wet lay systems and polyester infusion techniques . The majority of our work is done in our clean rooms (EMA & CCA). We cure our parts in autoclaves and prepare them for NDT testing. Before going through the paint preparation steps . We also fit out all our parts using contact adhesives to bond on fittings or Araldite glues. We all follow very strict iso and NADCAP regulations to achieve the required specification and stamp the process book that follows each and every part we make. I lead Audits for compliance with strict aviation standards. As well as major stock taking audits . Show less

My 10 years at Sunseekers started at New Milton , laying up hulls and decks. I moving to the shipyard within a year to start as a Deck fitter and worked on some of the best boats produced in Poole, namely the 82 , 108 & 130 Predators , I fitted everything from a hatch, to the most recent master state balcony . The last 18 months in Poole were spent at the Technology Centre, Here I produced with a select team , carbon fibre components . Most notably , the hard tops . This component being the largest carbon fibre item produced in the UK , that is lacquered . I also did trimming and bonding . And I was trained in the fitting of the makefast canopies . I also had to record materials and times for costing . Show less

My time at Green Marine was mainly spent laminating , either in a team on a Severn class hull or laying carbon pre-preg plys in the new FSB wheelhouse mould. Near the end of my time I became a member of the re-fit team , taking apart Mersy class lifeboats and reassembling them to a standard that can only be described as better than new . At Green Marine I received a "highly recommended" letter from lloyds registered surveyor . I started as a laminator , building wind turbine blades from epoxy resins and plywood . I progressed into the mechanical fit out side of the company, where I made tip brake boxes , using infusion on a heated alloy mandrill . And I was also a member of the service team sent to Germany to service the blades internal mechanics , and replace tip brakes that had been hit by lightning . Worked at great height hung from a crane In small basket . I started as a laminator , building wind turbine blades from epoxy resins and plywood . Issuing daily tasks , stock taking etc. I wrote a detailed build manual of every job. and listed product quantities and job times for correct costing .
