Industrialisation Technician/RF Technician

2000 - Present
I am currently an industrialisation technician forming the bridge between engineering and production. My duties include the writing of ATE programs using Agilent VEE, the build of test jigs and Streamlining products to improve throughput speed. I am involved in investigation of faults that occur on the production line and in the process of eliminating it in future builds through Engineering change proposals(FRACAS). During the pre-production phase of a product I am involved in testing and checking documentation as well as hardware. I provide technical assistance/training to production test technicians as and when needed. Previously I managed a team of 7 technicians in the test department which forms part of the production facility. Our department duties include the loading of firmware, test, calibration, faultfinding and repair of printed circuit boards, modules and systems in an Electronic Warfare Industry on a wide range of electronic equipment which include antennas, power supplies, power amplifiers, receivers, synthesizers, digital controllers and direction finders. I was responsible for managing workflow, resources as well as training/skills transfer. I have also been closely involved in the industrialization process for a number of years which forms the bridge between engineering and production on any new developments. My responsibilities included the identification of design oversights( both electronic and mechanical), building of test jigs to minimize testing time, updates of documentation and maintenance of automatic test equipment using Agilent VEE pro as platform interfacing with network analysers, spectrum analysers and signal generators. I also gave constant feedback to the production line on process errors and aimed to eliminate problems on future builds. I have been employed by GEW since 2000, left for a short time between 2005 and 2007 and returned. Show less
