I had the pleasure of working with Gareth for 3 and a half years during our tenor at WorleyParsons. During that time Gareth was the Regional IT Location Manager for the EMEA and Sub Sahara region and my direct South African Manager. Gareth is brilliant with strategy, problem solving and will look at a problem from an unique point of view. Has a very broad technical knowledge and will share any knowledge willingly. He has a very strong financial background which he used to assist with a strong and complexed cost savings initiative by WP. Gareth has a very unique managerial style and are highly respected by his team both locally and international. Gareth will be a huge asset to any company from a Senior Executive perspective.

I worked with Gareth for 7 years at WorleyParsons. For the last three years I was Regional CIO of the EMEA Region and Gareth worked directly for me and managed the Africa and Middle East Region. Gareth is an extremely strong and competent manager, very well versed in Finance, Technical understanding, understanding of our business and what they require from IT, and, most importantly, very strong with his communication skills and his ability to 'get on' with staff, colleagues and business customers alike. Gareth managed all of the IT budgets for the various locations through out Africa and the Middle East and made sure that they were not overspent, and helped to reduce them if at all possible, and to make strong business cases for any investments required. His team consisted of the local IT staff in Johanessburg and the other IT staff in locations such as Nigeria, Angola, Oman, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai etc. I always knew Gareth was a safe paid of hands for all of those locations, and that I could rely on him to communicate with the local business directors, as well as manage the IT staff remotely and always have his finger on the pulse of what was happening. Gareth was a highly trusted deputy, and a potential successor for my role, and I am sure he could turn his hand to any role in IT with his businesss acumen, his abilility to form strong relationships, and his 'all round positive attitude'. He is one of the 'good guys' and I would recommend him to any future employer.
