All services offered by the Cornerstones of Care system seek to reduce the frequency and impact of adverse childhood experience and implement the Sanctuary Model, a trauma-informed care model of care. Our 33 programs and services is the area's largest continuum of care for children and families. Our programs and services are offered by Healthy Families Programs, Gillis, Marillac, Ozanam and Spofford.Healthy Families America is a nationally-recognized, evidence-based program that connects expectant mothers and mothers who are at risk for child abuse/neglect, with free child development assistance and family support. As a Family Support Specialist, I visit the family once a week to provide guidance, education, referrals and resources to help the young parents to be the best mom/ dad that they can be to their children. We work with children from prenatal to age 3.

Provide home visitation services in Gage and Jefferson Counties. Services are provided in conjunction with Public Health Solutions, with referrals from the State of NE. I provide pregnancy, adoption and parenting support and education to those who have been referred by local hospitals or other community agencies. I am also able to teach community education classes about early child development. I strongly believe in working with young mothers/parents from prenatal to age 5, to recognize healthy family strengths, and help them build knowledge and confidence in being able to be good parents. Healthy Families America is a nationally-recognized program that connects expectant parents with free child development assistance. As a family resource specialist, I visit the family once a week to provide guidance, education and support to help the young parents to be the best mom and dad that they can be to their children. Many of my clients are teen moms, who have chosen to stay in school after being able to get support from this program, which I find very rewarding.

    • Paraeducator- Substitute

Assist in classrooms with students who have learning difficulties- physical, mental or behavioral. State of NE Paraeducator conference training working with children with Autism and ADHD. Worked one-on-one for a school year with Autistic child, whom I had also known personally for 10 years, so I do have a good working knowledge of this disorder in children. I have taught/assisted at all grade levels K-12 in SPED, Skills, Compass Learning, Alternative Learning classrooms and Detention. I would volunteer often for the Middle School after-school homework tutoring/assistance classroom. I have also worked as a tutor privately in homes, to assist with elementary lessons in math, spelling, history and science.

    • Group Administrator
      • Aug 2013 - May 2014

BSB is an International Support Group for those who have Bipolar Disorder. We are the world's largest online support group, with over 6,000 members. There are 25 group administrators. I assist members who are dealing with cutting issues, suicidal thoughts, manic episodes, hypomania, and depression. When they can not be helped in a group discussion, I will talk to them in private messages or chat. If in imminent danger, we contact local authorities near where they live if we can get an address from them. I work the crisis line often. My most rewarding moment was being able to get the police in time to a young teen-aged girl who lived in Canada, by finally talking her into giving me her address. This is a volunteer position, but I am blessed to be God's tool to help those who battle daily with Bipolar Disorder.https://www.facebook.com/groups/BSB.Group
