My main function as part of a Business Improvement Team was to Liaise with internal stakeholders to ascertain where improvements were needed, holding collaborative meetings to brainstorm improvements and establish which projects were the priority and how long they would take, then set up regular update meeting with major stakeholders to monitor progress of the projects. I was also required to interact with upper Management and corporate to provide feedback on the progress of the various projects. The Team also had to present on a regular basis to an audience which varied in size from 5 to 30 people, all members of the team were required to participate in the presentation which helped develop public speaking ability. I was also tasked with the responsibility to approach vendors via email requesting a reduction in price for goods and services provided to Peak Gold Mines. It was then necessary to negotiate over the phone to reach an acceptable agreement.ACHIEVEMENTS• The business improvement team that I was a part of completed many projects that either saved money or increased efficiency, The Team was considered to be a high functioning one and was deemed a success• Part of the Business Improvement initiative was to reduce costs for goods and services, due to the volume of work that was involved this became a side project of which I was responsible. I was tasked in reducing our spend by 15%. As a result of my success in this project I was offered the Assistant Contracts and Procurement Officers position. Show less
