Activate Delegate
-
Jan 2022 - May 2022
It was a true honor to have been a part of Art For LA's ACTIVATE: Delegates 2022 cohort. Along with my fellow Delegates, and this amazing advocacy workshop, we meet with our elected officials to advocate for our current challenges within the arts community such as the rise of unemployment and increasing operating costs. We asked our county representatives to continue to champion the Arts in our county and prioritize the needs of the art and culture sector. This included; the Countywide Cultural Policy Strategy Proposal #24 - Pilot a Creative Space Partners Subsidy Program, to increase the OGP funding to chronically undercapitalized BIPOC artists and BIPOC-led organizations and cultural institutions, and last but not least to support the passage of the Arts & Music in Schools - Funding Guarantee and Accountability Act statewide.
