In my position at Gelman & Associates, I was responsible for drafting pleadings, navigating disclosure, communicating directly with clients, and conducting legal research. During my employment, I was consistently tasked to employ creative solutions to complex legal issues such as child custody and property equalization. For example, I was the primary researcher and author of written arbitration submissions on the issue of retroactively decreasing child support payments. Junior Policy Analyst

May 2018 - Sep 2018
As a junior policy analyst, I collaborated with program areas including Youth Justice and the Child Welfare Secretariat to develop solutions to Ministry wide issues such as the implementation of the 2017 Child, Youth and Family Services Act. I also supported the drafting of complex legislation through my research on best practices in other jurisdictions and literature review on the efficacy of certain activities related to vulnerable children, youth and families. Working alongside the Vice President of the Organization, I conducted secondary research focusing on global health diplomacy efforts in Brazil. This required me to transcribe and analyze interviews from individuals who work in the global health sector in Brazil. Using this data, I wrote a final report on global health diplomacy to be published by the Canadian International Council.
