I often represented parents in care proceedings matters. I was responsible for the drafting of legal documents and for the preparation of Legal Aid applications for funding. I was also responsible for meeting with the client and drafting their statements and relevant evidence. I conducted some of my own advocacy. For example, I represented my client at the first non-molestation hearing without notice in which the order was granted. Show less

Valencia, Spain As an English tutor in Valencia, I taught students from the ages of 9 until 70 on a one-to-one basis and helped them with their pronunciation and sentence structure. I prepared lessons focusing on specific grammar points and difficult vocabulary. I also held exam preparation sessions which included mock exams under timed conditions and teaching exam technique. There were a few students who did not live in Valencia and so Skype lessons were available for these students.

Doha, Qatar I was given legal tasks such as calculating severance packages at the end of employment which I then had to present to one of the partners as if they were a client. This was good public speaking and presentation practice which I always enjoy. It also helped me with structure as I had to present something that I had only just learnt about in a logical way with clear answers as severance packages can often be confusing and difficult.
